Description of Services

Services are marked by a high degree of participation by congregants of all ages. We are a family congregation, in which young and old pray together. Members of the congregation lead the davenning, read from the Torah and chant haftarot. Often those taking leadership roles are teenagers who have learned the necessary skills through the Spiegel Religious School and Beth El's Bar/Bat Mitzvah program.

On Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, a variety of services are held for every age group from kindergarten through high school.

Services include a d'var Torah, a sermon or other presentation based on the weekly Torah readings and exploring its meaning for our times.
