Welcome to Beth El Congregation, a Conservative synagogue located in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Beth El Congregation is a Conservative, egalitarian synagogue. As a bet tefilla, a house of prayer, a bet midrash, a house of study, and a bet knesset, a house of assembly, it strives to meet the individual and communal religious, educational and social needs of the Beth El family.

We have weekday morning and evening minyans in addition to Shabbat and holiday services .

All services are participatory. We invite you to come and experience a Shabbat with us any Saturday morning at 9:15. (Babysitting is available.)

Education is available to all ages. Our Beth El Nursery School (BENS) is accredited and has exciting and varied programs. The Spiegel Religious School conducts classes (kindergarten through seventh grade) for more than 200 students. Our teenagers are encouraged to attend the School of Advanced Jewish Studies (SAJS), a community-wide high school in Squirrel Hill, as well as a Continuing Teen Education program taught by our Rabbi. We have many varied adult education classes held throughout the week.

Under the guidance of our Youth Director, B.E.S.T. Chaverim (3rd-5th grades), Kadima (6th-8th grades), and Ben Gurion United Synagogue Youth (BGUSY) provide positive, informal and experiential Jewish content. During the year we hold family holiday activities that provide a great deal of fun and camaraderie--i.e. the Hanukkah Lunch and the Purim Carnival. Our Sisterhood and Men's Club enhance the congregation with their many social, educational, and fund raising activities. The Couples Club socials are open to all.

Joining Beth El is joining a community that is growing, alive, active and exciting. We have a new sanctuary and social hall to handle our increasing membership. The renovated chapels, and the administrative and school wings provide the infrastructure for our community's needs.
