About Beth El |
Welcome to Beth El Congregation, a Conservative synagogue located in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Beth El Congregation is a Conservative, egalitarian synagogue. As a bet tefilla, a house of prayer, a bet midrash, a house of study, and a bet knesset, a house of assembly, it strives to meet the individual and communal religious, educational and social needs of the Beth El family.
We have weekday morning and evening minyans in addition to Shabbat and holiday services .
All services are participatory. We invite you to come and experience a Shabbat with us any Saturday morning at 9:15. (Babysitting is available.)

Beth El Website |
You might have noticed that the Beth El website has a different look to it.
The first step was to convert the site to a new system that will make it easier for us to (1) update the content and (2) make it easier for you to find important information on the site.
Take a look in the upper right-hand corner of the site ... there is now a SEARCH field so that you can quickly find what you are looking for. To do a search, type a couple of words in the Search box and press the enter key on your keyboard.
Also, if you look in the top menu bar, you will see a SITE MAP menu button to help you locate info on the Beth El website.

Beth El Library |
David Stahl Memorial Library
The David Stahl Memorial Library of Beth El Congregation, administered by Beth El Sisterhood, has a collection of more than 2000 books, magazines and periodicals. The library subscribes to the Jewish Chronicle, Moment Magazine, Tikun, and the Jerusalem Report.
There are fiction and non-fiction books by and about Jews for adults, young adults, and children, as well as Jewish reference material for both children and adults.
There is a separate section of Nursery School books and periodicals dealing with child development. The Nan Toder Memorial Fund recently established a children's corner for the Library.
The card catalogue is cross-referenced according to the Library of Congress system. The library is available at all times for use by the religious school and members of the congregation.
Periodicals and reference material do not circulate. To borrow a book, you just need to fill out the card and return the book in two weeks.
