Beth El Nursery School                                                                                                                                            NAEYC

Beth El Nursery School (BENS) is an NAEYC-accredited nursery school located in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh on the border of Scott Township and Mt. Lebanon.

BENS has been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children since 1991. The school is open to the community and serves as a training site for early childhood education students from local colleges and universities.  Beth El Nursery School is inclusive -  staffing and classroom modifications are made to support children’s individual needs.

Our Philosophy

The school's emphasis is on social-emotional development, with the major goal being the development of security and confidence in each child, a pre-requisite to any future learning. The outstanding staff, creates a safe, secure, creative and loving learning environment for the children and their parents.

As one parent said, "The director and staff at Beth El are very committed to their philosophy that each child is an individual. They are extremely sensitive to parent/child relationships and quite knowledgeable about the children's development and emotional stages and phases and make themselves available as a resource to parents when needed."
