BEN GURION UNITED SYNAGOGUE YOUTH (USY)
Open to all Jewish youth in grades
9-12. USY is a multi-faceted program with the goal of helping teens
establish a strong and positive Jewish identity. At the Beth El Chapter
level, USY features religious, social, educational and social action
programming. USY also includes city-wide programs including dances and
sports participation activities which offer teenagers additional
opportunities to meet and interact with Jewish youth in the Pittsburgh
area. USY is a part of the Central Region of United Synagogue Youth which
provides convention programming and a one week summer camp for teens from
Western Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, and West
Virginia. BGUSY has won a number of awards for excellence in programming.
United Synagogue Youth also sponsors Israel Programs, Eastern
European/Israel Programs, Tour of America Programs, Semester in Israel,
and Year Course in Israel.
