About Beth El Sisterhood Print E-mail

As the women's voice of our synagogue, Beth El Sisterhood has much to offer all women members of the Congregation. We are a proud group of women, actively involved in activities which enrich our congregation, beautify our synagogue, support our religious school, and enhance our youth programs. Sisterhood provides social contacts and learning opportunities for you to grow as a concerned Jewish woman, including:

  • Study Group
  • Sisterhood Shabbat
  • Torah Fund
  • High Holiday Babysitting
  • Fundraisers
  • Book Club
  • Rosh Chodesh Breakfast
  • Scholarship Funds
  • College Contacts
  • Social Programs

Our members span a wide range of interests, ages and backgrounds. Our programs, including those listed above, are designed to enhance your personal growth, Jewish involvement and feeling of community. We are a chapter of the Women's League for Conservative Judaism. We hope that you will consider joining Sisterhood and we look forward to your participation.

Kehillah Kedoshah: Celebrating Community Woman to Woman Print E-mail

Sisterhood Torah Fund Campaign 2010-2011

Kehillah Kedoshah: Celebrating Community Woman to Woman: The 5771 Torah Fund Pin commemorates the energizing power of women's community. Kehillah kedoshah was the common term for Jewish community in Eastern Europe, but it also implies a community bound together by similar values and beliefs. The images contained within this stylized hamsa* reflect women in celebration, dancing and praising. The flame of the Women's League logo alludes to our members who are committed to a common purpose and the unbreakable bonds of sisterhood.

Your support of The Jewish Theological Seminary, Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies, Schechter Institute of Jewish Studies, and Seminario Rabinico Latinoamericano ensures the solid and healthy future of Conservative/Masorti Judaism.
