How To Make Your Own
“TERRIBLE TALLIS”

(with a little help)

YOU’LL NEED:

1) A Terrible Towel Beach Towel (or other fabric)

From steelers.com:
Terrible Towel Beach Towel
SKU: 08-148
30" x 60"
Retail Price: $24.95
If choosing another fabric:
There is no specific rule on the choice of cloth,
but it should not be a linen/wool blend.
Some say no mixing any animal fiber with plant fiber,
so that would also exclude a wool/rayon blend
or a silk/linen blend.

2) Tzitzit (fringes)

From judaism.com (Pinskers in Squirrel Hill):
Tzitzit String Bundle - Avodas Yad
Thin style can be used for tallit katan (tzitzit) or for a regular tallis.
Thick style is used only for a regular tallis.
JDC #88288    Thin                             $8.00
JDC #88289    Thick (tallis only)        $13.00
Tekhelet Tzitzit Avodas Yad Regular (with blue)
Set of tzitzit strings, avodas yad, white and tekhelet (blue),
for tying your own.
Each set has 4 tzitzit strings (1 to add to each corner),
as needed for one tallit or tallit katan.
Made in B'nei Barak, Israel under the supervision of Rabbi Mardzin
JDC #88287                                        $16.95
The corners of the tallit and the holes (buttonhole or eyelet) should be reinforced.
I brought another tallit to the tailor as an example.

4) Tie the Tzitzit

Call Rabbi Alex and he will teach you how to tie the tzitzit.
