About Beth El

Welcome to Beth El Congregation, a Conservative synagogue located in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Beth El Congregation is a Conservative, egalitarian synagogue. As a bet tefilla, a house of prayer, a bet midrash, a house of study, and a bet knesset, a house of assembly, it strives to meet the individual and communal religious, educational and social needs of the Beth El family.

We have weekday morning and evening minyans in addition to Shabbat and holiday services .

All services are participatory. We invite you to come and experience a Shabbat with us any Saturday morning at 9:15. (Babysitting is available.)

Special for New Members

Beth El Congregation is extremely pleased to be able to offer a 12 month membership at no cost. There will be no dues or building fund charges for a total of 12 months. This also includes High Holiday tickets. We are so sure that you will thoroughly enjoy your new connection with our Beth El family that we want you to see what you have been missing. The only restriction is that you may not have been a member of a South Hills congregation currently or in the past three years. David Rizzo, Jr. Memorial Fund

David Rizzo, Jr., 20, was killed the weekend of Feb. 20, 2010 in a tragic accident on the Parkway along with two other young people. David's mother and sister both teach at the JCC-South Hills. A Beth El member has created the David Rizzo, Jr. Memorial Fund in the hopes that others will donate in order to assist the family during this difficult time. The information is as follows:
